Curriculum Vitae
Jakob received his B.Eng in Media Technology from the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer in 2010 with focus on audio engineering (thesis title: An opera DVD production: the audio production workflow based on ProTools). He dug deeper into audio signal processing, virtual acoustics and perception during his studies at the Technical University Berlin where he received his M.Sc in Audio Communication and Technology in 2014 (thesis: On modal directivity decomposition of line array loudspeaker systems). After his studies he joined the Virtual Acoustics group at Fraunhofer IDMT and the Media Technology group at Technical University Ilmenau for project-oriented research on spatial audio technologies. In late 2017 he finally joins the Audio Communication group at the Institute of Communications Technology at Leibniz University Hannover as a researcher where he is also tackling his PhD endeavor.

- Audio signal processing (spatial audio, filter design, beamforming,…)
- Sound field capture, analysis, processing and reproduction
- Soundscape analysis
- Psychoacoustics and auditive perception
- Wind turbine noise analysis
